2009
The 5th generation of the distillers Le Lay arrived!
Henceforth the company is steered by three sons of Guy and Anne-Marie: Erwan, Kevin and Loig.
Let us wish good luck to them and a lot of success !!
The still that their back defers grandmother had bought second-hand in 1921 is 100 years old this year (1909-2009)! It thrones henceforth in the room of stills.
EDDU GOLD 2009. As every year, and for the 4th consecutive year, three barrels only (approximately 1500 bottles) will be puttings on sale from June 15th.
Numerous amateurs have already reserved a bottle of this vintage, considered simply "haughtiness" by Robert Léauté, one of the most famous "noses" in the world of spirits.
Magic...Potion. To the Distillery concocts a new product on base of apples. At the moment, Merlin the Magician bustles over his cauldron for the last preparations.
To raise the veil on its new preparation, meeting is given to the end of June / beginning in July
2008
February : two good news !
Gwenaval, a white apple brandy, won the award of the best product 2008 at the annual general meeting of Produit en Bretagne association.
Three new silver medals more... At the Paris Agricultural Show, our two pommeaux de Bretagne and our lambig has been awarded. A real encouragement to carry on working with the research of the best quality.
2007 This year looks to be just as rewarding. Eddu Gold, our latest whisky was rated 93/100 by the Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2007.
March, our young Pommeau was awarded the silver medal during the Paris General Agricultural Show.
November : The second batch of Broceliande oak barrows is arrived at the distillery. The first tries on the 2006 barrows are very promising.

2006, a year to remember...
2006 was quite an exceptional year, rich in events of all kinds :
In February, Eddu Grey Rock (30% buckwheat) was rated 89/100 in the Blend category by the Whisky Bible 2006, with Eddu Silver rating 91/100.
July 1st saw both the inauguration of the extension of the distillery (from 250sqm to 1,000 sqm) which now includes a noteworthy guided tour and the launching of Gwenaval (clear apple 40% alcohol cider brandy), with a rich fresh apple flavour.
In September, the distillery celebrated its 20th anniversary by introducing Eddu Gold, the new jewel of buckwheat whiskies to whisky lovers. The ceremony included the “blessing” of the first casks made of Broceliande forest oak by a druid near our menhirs and the event ended with a 500-guest concert-dinner.
In September too, during the Caen International Exhibition, our two Pommeaux (old and young) were pre-selected to participate in the Paris General Agricultural Show in March 2007.
