Production Pommeau de Bretagne is obtained by blending Lambig (Brittany apple brandy) with fresh apple juice at the onset of fermentation.
A short history Officially, Pommeau de Bretagne was created in the Distillerie des Menhirs over Christmas 1986. It remains one of our flagship products. A prize-winning product in Paris with 15 medals, of which 7 gold medals at the Paris General Agricultural Show, it is acknowledged as one of the best in France.
Ageing
Classic Pommeau ages for 2 to 3 years in oak barrels. Its has an amber hue and fruity touches of apple and cherry.
Pommeau vieux ages for 5 to 6 years in small oak barrels. It has an attractive amber hue and a smooth, mellow taste. Well balanced with prune flavours.

To enjoy Pommeau de Bretagne
As an aperitif or with « foie gras ». it goes beautifully with fish, scallops or to enhance a green apple sorbet. Pommeau de Bretagen must be served cool but not ice cold, 10 to 12°C.
